The Inferno Book“Thence we came forth to rebehold the stars.”In the year 1300, on the night before Good Friday, Dante becomes lost in a dark forest. He cannot find his way forward. In front of him stands a mountain, but his path is blocked by three fierce beasts—a lion, a leopard, and a she-wolf. These animals represent fear, danger, and human weakness. Dante feels completely trapped and turns back into the dark woods.

While lost, he meets the spirit of the great Roman poet Virgil. Virgil offers to guide him and help him escape confusion and fear.

With Virgil as his guide, Dante begins a symbolic journey through Hell. On this journey, he sees different levels of punishment, where souls face the consequences of their actions in life. Each scene teaches a moral lesson about justice, sin, and human behavior. The journey represents a deeper search for truth, self-understanding, and spiritual growth, as Dante moves from darkness toward light.

The Inferno Book is the first part of Dante Alighieri’s epic poem The Divine Comedy. It describes an imaginative journey through Hell using powerful and vivid imagery. It is considered one of the greatest works in the Italian language and a masterpiece of world literature.
